Gov. Chris Christie’s communications staff today trotted out a new version of an old favorite.
In pushing once again for a tax cut proposed by Christie, his staff released what New Jerseyans could buy with the $775 the administration says the average family would get back if the cut were enacted.
Among those items:
- 221 containers of Jersey blueberries.
- 138 pints of Flying Fish’s FU Sandy beer.
- 38 adult and 64 child tickets to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk Aquarium.
- 28 buckets of Johnson’s popcorn.
- 13 season passes to Mountain Creek Water Park.
- 129 fat sandwiches from The Grease Trucks.
- 77 tickets to the Stone Pony’s 6 Months from Sandy Jersey Shore Relief Concert.
- 39 tickets to Bon Jovi’s Because We Can Tour.
We would pray to God to save us from the last one, but rather than be "Livin’ On a Prayer" (oof!), we decided to compile our own Jersey list of things you can buy with $775. So without further fanfare, here are our offerings:
- 56 one-way trips in a car for the full length of the New Jersey Turnpike.
- 59 bridge or tunnel crossings from New Jersey to New York.
- 43 days of long-term parking at Newark Liberty Airport.
- 26 round-trip tickets to New York Penn Station from Princeton Junction.
- 19 parking tickets in Princeton.
- 7 seasonal beach badges from Deal, based on 2012 rates (with change leftover for some hot dogs at the Windmill).
What are some of your suggestions?
